Understanding When and Why Stops
Not all stops are priced the same
Not all stops are defined or priced the same. Most are billable. Some are not.
- Any deviation from the direct route to an intermediate location, resulting in increased distance and/or additional time, qualifies as a chargeable stop.
- Courtesy stops incur no charges on your bill.
Courtesy Stop Definition
- A brief, quick personal stop (usually 5 minutes or less) en route to purchase coffee or newspapers,etc.
- Our elite drivers extend courtesy stops to our valued customers.
Stop Pricing Guidelines
- With the exception of Elite, the NYC Black Car sector often utilizes antiquated full-zone-to-zone calculations, leading to inflated pricing.
- Since 1990, Elite has utilized its proprietary algorithm, an in-house-developed vector matrix to compute rates based on the actual distance traveled.
- You can access our standard Elite rates and stop pricing online at https://www.eliteny.com for a transparent booking experience.
- Different pricing applies to stops made en route versus mot on route. Stops not along the route may entail adjustments in pricing based on both time and distance.
- In Manhattan, our charges for stops start at just $15.
- For outer boroughs, fairs for stops begin at $25.
- Out of town stops begin at $30 for stops in the same town
- SUV stops are priced at 1.4 times that of sedans.
